Kelly Moore Bag

2 posts in one day, say what???

We e-filed our tax returns yesterday. We are always in a hurry to do it because of the refund. R is using the refund to pay for Geology field camp this summer and I am getting photography gears. On the top of my list: a Kelly Moore bag and a 60mm macro lens.

I LOVE these Kelly Moore bags! Cute, stylish AND functional! Kelly even has videos of herself introducing each bags and explaining different features.

The B-hobo bag in Walnut is the one I'm eyeing, I can't wait until the IRS deposit money into the account so I can buy one!!! But too bad they are not shipping until March, I really love the color so I'll have to keep waiting.

What I've been up to...

So, as it turned out, last year was pretty pathetic in terms of how many photographs I actually took. I did make a more conscious effort to record more videos and being the lazy person that I am, I took less pictures. New year, new attitude. MORE PHOTOGRAPHS!

I am participating in PROJECT 365, where I take a photo each day. So far so good, I've only missed a few days, but that was when I was on vacation.

You can check out the photos here

This is my latest photo:

Keep checking back for more updates!

Miss E is turning 2!

Time sure flies... my little niece, Miss E, is turning 2 soon! This is what she looked like a year ago, now she has a lot more hair and teeth but still as cute as a button. She was a bit fussy but eventually gave me a few smiles.

Photowalk Utah, Ogden Part 2

This is downtown Ogden, to be more specific, this is 25th street. 2 blocks of it. There are lots of antique shops, restaurants, and mom-and-pop shops.

And these.....

There were several bronze statues of kids, they were quiet honestly, creepy. It's not a downtown Ogden thing, it's a Utah thing. They REALLY like bronze statues of random kids. I miss California!

Even though the calender says spring, it's still a bit nippy here, so shops made do with these,

Fake flowers... did I mention I miss California?

So I was walking, walking, walking. Looking into the shops but not wanting to go in, until I see this man in an old fashion barber shop, signaling me to come in.

Man: I see a lot of people taking pictures, are you in a group?
Me: Yes, it's a photography group.
Man: You should go around back this building and take a picture of the sign.
Me: Just around back? Sure.
Man: You should, just around back.
Me: Sure no problem. Can I take a picture of you?
Man: Okay, but I have a jacket on.
Me: Oh, it's no big deal.

But the man didn't stop talking to me about the sign, so I just started snapping away.

I went around back and saw this sign...

The sign looked new, like it was repainted so not really authentic.I'm glad I took the photo for him though, since he went out of his way to tell me about it. He was sweet man.

I really wish I went with a friend... but I found a way to take a picture of myself to document that I was actually there :)

Photowalk Utah, Ogden Part 1

Today, I did something new! I actually met up with a group of people from Photowalk Utah, and took pictures all over downtown Ogden. Granted, I didn't talk to anyone, but it's a pretty big deal. I had a lot of fun though!

This is where we met up, Union Station

We went in the lobby first and my eyes went straight to the murals. This is for my husband, he loves to tell me about how "my people" built the rail roads.

There were these old men just hanging out, talking about the good old days.

Here are the trains, I took more, but these 2 are my favorite.

Part 2 coming soon!

C & C Urban

These poor boys! What was I thinking?? The sun tricked me into thinking that it was warmer than it was. So these boys were shivering and saying how cold it was. They were such troopers, I should have brought lollipops to reward them. I kept the shoot short and ... well I won't say sweet, I just kept it short. I didn't want them to get sick over photographs.

I've always wanted a feet shot

I told them to keep their hands in their pockets to keep warm, I think it was only in the 30's :(

Mom was brave, she wore short sleeves! By this shot, the boys were done.
